| We were invited to go sailing on a First 285 while we were in Chicago! Lash is a member of the Beneteau e-mail list and we had a fantastic time sailing on his boat (s/v 'Sea Jane Run'). If I didn't own a Beneteau First 285, I'd sure want one. |  | |||

The fuzzy brush on the top of his mast helps drain off any static electricity. It's supposed to keep lightning from striking the mast. And, since his mast has never been hit, it works! We need to discuss this on the e-mail list a few more times. I still don't understand very much about lightning and sailboats... | |||

The park along the waterfront has beaches for swimming, paths for walking and cycling, benches for picnics and open space for people who live too close together. Just ask me about the traffic! I keep my boat in Ten Mile Tennessee where it's 10 miles to the nearest traffic light. |  | |||
